Solar Eclipse November 3, 2013

“You can’t stop the future
You can’t rewind the past
The only way to learn the secret
…is to press play.”
Jay Asher, Thirteen Reasons Why

This solar eclipse is part of Saros cycle 16 North. The last eclipse in this series occurred on October 24, 1995 at zero degrees Scorpio.  In addition, there was an eclipse on November 3, 1994, that was part of Saros Series 15 North that occurred at 11 degrees Scorpio.  You may find that issues that you dealt with during those times may resurface at this eclipse.

The Saros cycle 16 North family of eclipses are relatively mild with a sub-emphasis of Neptune trine Uranus and Venus at the midpoint of New Moon/Mercury.  This means that there is an undercurrent of energy in the current eclipse that emphasizes creative insights, inspiration and the illumination of new ideas.  You may find amazing new insights and bursts of inspiration welling up in your consciousness.  Though an eclipse can bring job loss, it is a little-known fact that eclipses can often bring amazing new job changes, promotions and opportunities.  You can fan this energy by really paying attention to hunches, intuition and “ah ha” moments and by generally paying attention to what is going on around you.

In addition to the Sun and Moon, Mercury, Saturn, the Ascendant and the North Node will be in the sign of Scorpio at the time of the eclipse.  The North Node has been hovering around the eclipse point since August 12.  Issues that have been simmering since that time will be in focus at or near the eclipse.  Transiting Venus at 11 degrees Taurus (giving and receiving love and value) is in opposition to the eclipse.  Issues around security, partnership assets, and deep partnership issues may come to a head at this time.  An extra dose of patience and calmness (Taurus) would be a good idea to offset the Scorpio turbulence.

Eclipses, especially solar eclipses, bring hidden things out into the open.  Because this solar eclipse is in the sign of Scorpio, the tendency to illuminate hidden parts of your life will be even more pronounced.  The concentration of Scorpio energy allows you to see behind the veil. Look for what is behind the appearances, not just at what appears to be true.

Emotions will be intensified and it will be hard to maintain your cool (especially true for Scorpios and to lesser degree all water signs).  If someone pushes your buttons, it would be best to hold your ground but hold it in a way that minimizes the likelihood of unwarranted aggression from others.  One of the gifts of this eclipse could be to help you learn your power and how to express it in a way that does not diminish yourself, yet does not agitate others.

In summary, this eclipse requires us to be introspective, to pay attention to creative ideas, to be cautious but to look for greater things.  It would be very wise to stay in control of your emotions.  The opening quote to this article is so true:  “You can’t stop the future, you can’t rewind the past.  The only way to learn the secret…is to press play.”  Enter the future powerfully and courageously (Scorpio), knowing that your security needs will be met (Taurus opposition to eclipse point), even if the “how” is still hidden (Scorpio).

Hello dd817, The October 18 (19 where you are) eclipse fell in your 11th house (Moon) and 5th house (Sun). The Sun was conjunct your 5th house Pluto/Jupiter. The 5th house shows where and how we love ourselves, which is necessary in order to love others. That eclipse would ask that you transform (Pluto) how you give to yourself and others in order to receive the love you need (11th house).

The November 3 eclipse falls in your 6th house of work forming a Scorpio stellium with Mercury as the first planet and Saturn as the last planet in the stellium. With Mercury retrograde, you may need to retrace some of the steps you have taken with regard to your career allowing the Sun and Moon to shine light on the areas that still need work. Of course, the new moon also asks that you handle work matters in a new way. With Saturn as the last planet in the stellium, you have an excellent chance of success as long as you do the hard work and take responsibility for your actions with regard to work matters. As this stellium transits over your natal Uranus you may find that there are parts of the work environment that you may need to release. Does something really need to be done the way you thought it should be done? There may also be changes in the workplace.

Take care. It was good to hear from you again.
