Full Moon Lunar Eclipse April 25, 2013

“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.” ― Eckhart Tolle

The Scorpio eclipse full moon falls at 5 degrees of Scorpio and the eclipse Sun falls at 5 degrees of Taurus in this April 25, 2013 lunar eclipse.  A lunar eclipse always falls on a full moon and it always creates an opposition aspect between the Sun (our forward-moving urge to be) and the Moon (our tender emotional body and the things we feel we need).  An opposition aspect creates a dynamic tension.  An opposition between the Sun and Moon pits our rational mind (Sun) against our emotional, primal feeling of need (Moon).  In this particular eclipse the tension is even stronger than usual because the Sun and Moon are in opposition in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio.

In addition, the Moon (emotion, what we feel we need) is conjunct Saturn (limitation and responsibility).  The Sun (our conscious mind and rationality) is conjunct Mars (anger and the urge for action), while it opposes the Saturn/Moon conjunction.  This sets up a situation in which we may feel emotionally needy and vulnerable (Moon/Saturn) but also feel like we must act (Mars) to defend our self image (Sun).  It would be best to tread lightly and not try to fix   relationship or family problems while the eclipse energy is strong.

Taurus is a sign that likes comfort and security.  As a general rule, those with a strong Taurus signature in their chart (Sun, Moon, Ascendant or chart ruler) don’t like to take chances. They may stay put, even when some movement and change in their life might be beneficial.

The sign of Scorpio, while not welcoming change with open arms, is the sign of transformation.  Because of that, there is strong survivor energy in the sign of Scorpio.  Scorpios deal with chaos better than any other sign in the Zodiac.  If I were ever caught in a burning building, I would hope that there was a Scorpio nearby to lead me to safety.  Because of this, Scorpios are willing to set up a situation where the normal definition of security is nowhere to be found, even though they are a fixed sign and do not inherently welcome change.

What this means to those of you who are strongly affected by the eclipse, is that if you are in a situation that you know is no longer in your best interest, there will most likely be a war going on within you as to whether you should stay or go—or bail out—or dig in your heals.  The question to ask yourself is:  “Am I willing to go through the chaos and uncertainty brought about by change in order to make a better life for myself?”  The potential change can show up in conditions around relationships, material goods, or ideas and philosophies.  Change causes discomfort wherever it is found; but it also can bring about a more positive life situation.

The people most strongly affected by this eclipse are those with planets from zero to 12 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius.  Those with planets in the last two degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn may also feel its effect.  If the eclipse strongly affects you, it is best that you make the changes that you know are in your best interests, because the strong eclipse energy will sometimes move you along unwillingly.

Hello denizdirlik, It was good to hear from you again. The April 25 eclipse falls in your 6th and 12th houses in a separating conjunction with Mars in the 12th and an applying conjunction with Saturn in the 6th. As noted, lunar eclipses are always at least partially about letting go of what is no longer working. The eclipse may push you to become more aggressive (Sun conjunct Mars in the 12th) about pushing through anything hidden (12th house) that is holding you back. The Moon conjunct Saturn in the sixth should enable you to emotionally disengage from the need to accept working conditions that are less than optimal. With Saturn in the 6th, over work has probably started to feel normal. Also, note that transiting Jupiter in Gemini is now in your 2nd house of earnings. This should give a boost to your earning power. Something started now may reach a big boost in earning power once Jupiter moves on to conjunct your Sun. Though that will take some time, it is something to look forward to. I would advise continuing to look for something better, while convincing yourself that you are capable of, and deserve the best (Sun eclipse in the 12th). You have a good chance of succeeding after Saturn turns direct around July 10, 2013.

Hi Ruby! Thanks for the post. I would like to know how the eclipse will affect me. My birthdate is 12/24/74 at 11:24pm. I have also been dating a Leo for 5 months 7/29/69 (time ???).

Hello again Jackieland, The April 25 2013 lunar eclipse has an effect on finances of everyone because of its placement in the Taurus/Scorpio axis. For you, the lunar eclipse Moon falls in your 2nd house of money and resources, and the eclipse Sun falls in your 8th house of other’s money, with the eclipse Sun widely conjunct your natal moon. This gives it a very strong emphasis on matters related to finances. There may be a change in your finances, partly from your own efforts and partly from money or help you receive from someone else. I would also think about anything that you are doing that has been less than successful and try to make any necessary changes to ramp money-making up another notch.

Your relationship could also reach a deeper level of intimacy and commitment under this eclipse (8th house Sun/Moon conjunction). With transiting Mercury conjunct your natal Chiron, it could be a good time to discuss (Mercury) your hopes and fears (Chiron) around relationship with your Leo friend. The eclipse is square his Sun in your 11th house of friends and hopes and wishes. It seems like, in many ways he is a great friend to you.

I would like to ask u how this eclipse will affect me (02.06.1981 at 9.50 pm UTC) & my relationship with a man (15.08.1961 at 4.35 pm UTC)?
    Thx a lot in advance.

Hi Allissaxox, Thanks for your comments. Could you please give me the city and country for your birth places. My astrology program will not let me enter a time zone without a location. Thanks.

  • alissaxox

Sure, actually, I gave time which was “reset” for UTC, as there are 2 different time zones.
2.06.81 at 1.50 am, Elista, Kalmykia, Russian Federation (UTC+4)
    15.08.61 at 6.35 pm, Bologna, Italy (UTC+2).

Alissaxox, The May 10 solar eclipse falls in your sixth house of work and service. The Taurus stellium is conjunct your natal Chiron in the 6th house. Stress or hurt or troubles related to work or service situations need to be looked at and dealt with. The eclipse is in opposition to your Scorpio ascendant. There is a need to bring your true self out into the open and no longer keep it a secret who you truly are. I would wonder if you are able to show your true capabilities in the work place. Also, with such a strong connection to your ascendant, I would suggest changing your appearance (even if only ever so slightly), or the way you project yourself to others, as a way of confirming your true self. This shows up in your birth chart also with Uranus conjunct your ascendant in the first house. When Uranus is in the first house natally there is always a secret rebellious side that wants to come out and petition for the “freedom to be me!”

Transiting Jupiter and Venus are in your 7th house of marriage and long-term relationships which bode well for your current relationship. When the transiting Taurus planets move into your 7th house, the energy will be even stronger for bonding. Your boyfriend’s South Node is conjunct your Mars/Moon in the third house. This will often show a karmic or past life tie. His Moon is conjunct your Saturn in the 11th house of friends. You seem to be a teacher to him in some way, but he also teaches you about emotions. You are both teaching each other about being friends.

Thanks a lot for ur work, Ruby 🙂
