We are mosaics. Pieces of light, love, history, stars… Glued together with magic and music and words.”― Anita Krizzan
The month begins with a Pisces New Moon in a stellium with Jupiter and Neptune. Compassion, love and, yes, “magic and music and words” are all part of the Pisces/Neptune archetype. We are reminded this month that no matter what is happening out in the world (talk of war, strife and uncertainty), at our core we are “pieces of light, love, history and stars” and thus are removed from, and not embedded in, the fray. When the noise in the world becomes too much, let us remember who we really are as we celebrate this magical Piscean energy.
The energy heats up considerably as the planets move into Aries. Hopefully, we can keep the calm and compassion within us as we move towards the dynamic and fast-moving month of April.
March 2: New Moon at 12 Degrees Pisces. The Moon and Sun are in a rolling Pisces stellium along with Jupiter and Neptune. Even amidst the strife and uncertainty in the world, this Pisces New Moon reminds us to use compassion and spiritual insight to navigate the, tricky, concerning and even sometimes horrifying events. By staying in our heart center, we can be a beacon of light to others suffering from the onslaughts of the conditions around us.

March 13: Sun Conjunct Neptune at 22/23 Degrees Pisces. The Sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces overlays the strife in the world with a sense of peace, love and compassion. You may be drawn to a need to immerse yourself in spiritual matters. Unfortunately, all planets have both a higher vibration and a lower vibration. The lower manifestation of this Sun conjunct Neptune is a profound sense of weariness and an inability to cope with the world. Be kind to yourselves, be in nature (particularly water), and withdraw from outside matters for a couple of days if you are able. Doing so will help the higher vibration of Sun conjunct Neptune bring you peace.
March 18: Virgo Full Moon at 27 Degrees, 40 Minutes Virgo. The Full Moon in Virgo, occurring right before the equinox, ushers in a new astrological year. In tropical, Western astrology, the astrological year always begins at zero degrees Aries, which happens at the equinox. What better time to clean out the clutter and cobwebs, whether it is in your brain, your surroundings or your life generally. Even amidst the strife and uncertainty in the world, this Virgo Full Moon reminds us to stay grounded and to separate the facts from the sensationalism (Virgo is an Earth sign).

March 19: Venus Square Uranus at 12 Degrees Aquarius/Taurus. Venus square Uranus can be challenging for close relationships. When Venus is square Uranus there is a need for freedom and excitement and an attraction to the unusual. Instead of letting this aspect cause problems in your relationship, use it to find a new and exciting activity that you can do together. Doing so will enhance your relationship, especially since Venus and Uranus are in mutual reception to each other. (Venus is in Uranus’ sign and Uranus is in Venus’ sign.) Venus square Uranus can also make you more prone to impulse buying, so hide your credit cards for a few days until this aspect passes.
March 20-21: Sun Enters Aries at the Vernal Equinox. When the Sun enters Aries, it is known as the Vernal Equinox. It begins the new astrological year and points to a time when the energy quickens and the excitement of a new season begins. Just like the calendar New Year, the astrological new year is a time to let go of the past and to set your intentions for the coming astrological year. The Sun in Aries brings a sense of action and purpose to get things done.
March 22: Mars Square Uranus at 12 Degrees Aquarius/Taurus. Mars square Uranus in the fixed signs of Aquarius and Taurus screams restlessness, impulsiveness and revolutionary rashness. You may be especially prone to acting out against real, or perceived, authority figures. Rather than impulsively reacting, use this powerful transit to shake yourself loose from unproductive, self-limiting situations. However, there is a need to refrain from over-reacting to perceived restraints.
March 27: Mercury Enters Aries. Mercury in Aries adds to the general excitement of the Aries energy. Ideas flow into action. Use this energizing, quick thinking, on-point combination to move forward in a self-confident, vigorous manner. Be aware that your words can be expressed too aggressively under the influence of Mercury in Aries.
March 28: Venus Conjunct Saturn at 22 Degrees Aquarius. Venus conjunct Saturn can bring some pretty sober thoughts about your significant relationships. You may ask yourself whether certain relationships are worth it. Your emotions are restrained under this conjunction, so it’s best not to push others regarding affection. This is a good time to look at your finances with the goal of economizing and budgeting.
March 31/April 1- Aries New Moon at 11 Degrees Aries. The New Moon in Aries is part of a rolling stellium of Sun, Moon, Chiron and Mercury in Aries. At the same time, Mars, Saturn and Venus form a rolling stellium that is square the South Node in Scorpio and the North Node in Taurus. It is clearly time to “turn a page” (Aries) and to let go of the old hurtful energy (Chiron). The South Node in Scorpio holds a primal attachment to chaos and trauma, while the North Node in Taurus is about moving to a more peaceful and grounded world view. Use this powerful, healing energy to let go of old, unhelpful ideas (Mercury), actions (Mars) and obsessions (South Node in Scorpio).

We’re all just walking each other home. – Ram Dass
February each year emphasizes the sign of Aquarius and the concepts of brotherhood/sisterhood, equality and connection. Though we continue to have challenging energy playing out in the background during year 2022, February 2022 gives us a small respite. Most of the planetary aspects are of the easier variety (trines and sextiles), rather than the squares and oppositions that were strong most of last year.
In addition, Jupiter moved into Pisces on December 29, 2021. Jupiter is the co-ruler of Pisces and, thus, is strong in Pisces. Jupiter in Pisces expands the Piscean energy and brings a sense of love, compassion and oneness to the harsher energy that we have been feeling.
This Valentine’s Day will be enhanced due to the agape love portrayed by Jupiter in Pisces. While celebrating Valentine’s Day with your family or significant other, spend a few minutes projecting that love outward to all humanity. That is the true essence of Valentine’s Day as celebrated by Jupiter in Pisces as it moves toward conjunction with Neptune on April 11.
February 1: New Moon at 12 Degrees Aquarius. What a wonderful combination of symbols we have with this Aquarius New Moon. A New Moon is about starting over, starting new projects and new breakthroughs. The New Moon falling on the first day of February amplifies the symbology.
The New Moon/Sun conjunction is also conjunct Saturn in Aquarius and square Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is about breaking free, light bulb ideas and throwing off limitations. Saturn conjunct the Aquarius New Moon, acts as a stabilizing influence, keeping you from going too far too quickly. Pluto in Capricorn trine the North Node in Taurus urges you to take back your power (Pluto) in order to express your heart’s desire and life purpose (North Node). Use this dynamic New Moon in Aquarius to boldly move forward with new plans.

February 4: Sun Conjunct Saturn at 16 Degrees Aquarius. Sun conjunct Saturn combines the energy of the self-actualizing Sun with the steady accomplishment possible under Saturn. When the Sun is conjunct Saturn, you can make steady progress so long as you overcome a tendency to doubt yourself (Saturn). You may reap rewards from past endeavors (also Saturn).
February 4: Mars Sextile Jupiter at 8 Degrees Capricorn/Pisces. This lovely aspect brings a burst of confidence, energy and zest for accomplishing tasks. Mars brings the activity and energy, while Jupiter brings the optimism and expansion.
February 5: Mercury Direct at 24 Degrees Capricorn. Mercury is now moving forward in Capricorn where it moves to conjunct Pluto on February 11. Mercury conjunct Pluto tends to bring things out into the open for inspection and intense conversations. Watch the United States’ news for revelations and exposure of hidden matters. Those matters have been simmering along while Mercury was retrograde. Now, Mercury direct will bring some startling information out into the open.
February 8: Mars Trine Uranus at 11 Degrees Capricorn/Taurus. If something has kept you stuck, use this high-powered, energetic aspect to break free so you can forge a new path.
February 14: Valentine’s Day – Venus and Mars Conjunct at 16 Degrees Capricorn. High chemistry between love partners and prospective partners on this Valentine’s Day 2022. Venus rules love and attraction, flirting and charm. Mars rules physical attraction and the sizzle of same.
With the Moon in Leo waxing towards becoming full on February 16, it promises to be a sexy, romantic time.
February 16: Full Moon at 28 Degrees Leo. Every full Moon emphasizes a particular axis in the birth chart, since the Sun and Moon form an opposition to each other at the Full Moon. This Leo Full Moon is in opposition to the Sun in Aquarius. Leo is about self-expression and individuation. It asks: How am I special, unique and different from others? Aquarius is also proud of being different and values independence, but wants to be part of a group, team or collaborative effort. This Leo Full Moon brings up the question of: Am I balancing my need to give to and interact with others with my need for self-development? Those with late degrees of the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio) will feel this Full Moon the most.

February 16: Venus Conjunct Mars at 17 Degrees Capricorn. Business and money matters are favored under Venus conjunct Mars. This conjunction is also favorable for love attractions, popularity and social advancement. Because Venus conjunct Mars occurs under a Full Moon in Leo, aim big. The wind is at your back easing your way.
February 17: Jupiter Sextile Uranus at 11 Degrees Pisces/Taurus. Dream big (Jupiter) and take practical (Taurus), but unusual (Uranus) actions to make your dreams a reality.
February 18: Sun Enters Pisces. Transiting Neptune Opposes Natal Neptune in the United States Birth Chart at 22 Degrees Pisces/Virgo. Neptune opposition Neptune in the US chart is a big deal! A Neptune opposition occurs only once every 165 years. This transit, along with transiting Pluto conjunct the US natal Pluto (see below) is a BIG deal. When the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) make contact with our birth chart, a major shift is in the works. So too, in the charts of corporations and governmental entities.
February 20: Pluto Return in United States Chart at 27 Degrees Capricorn. Starting on February 20, 2022, we experience the historic, unprecedented in our lifetime, return of Pluto to where it was when the United States was formed on July 4, 1776. Pluto makes a historic conjunction with the United States’ Pluto at 27 Degrees Capricorn, which falls in the second house of the United States’ astrology chart.
Pluto stays in Capricorn until March 23, 2023, when it will enter Aquarius for the first time since 1797. The Pluto return in the US chart is extremely important, not only for the US, but for the economic and political systems of the entire world. Pluto transiting Capricorn since 2008, is slowly exposing fraud, dishonesty, greed and extreme autocracy. Much of the unease that we are all feeling is partly because of this Plutonian cleansing. If you would like to know more, stay tuned, as I will be posting my Pluto Return talk soon.
February 24: Mercury Square Uranus at 11 Degrees Aquarius/Taurus. Mercury square Uranus can lead to impulsive, erratic thoughts and sarcastic, unfiltered outbursts. However, it can bring beneficial breakthrough thoughts and ideas.
Moon Movement During February 2022: Note: The time of the Moon’s movement into a sign will vary depending on where you live.
February 1: Moon in Aquarius
February 1: New Moon at 12 Degrees 19 Minutes Aquarius

Sometimes we can only find our true direction when we let the wind of change carry us. — Mimi Novic
As we bravely set out into a fresh new year, we can all feel the winds of change blowing. We can feel deep in our bones that something is happening. We can’t yet figure out what it is; or what it means for us. We may be feeling a little agitated, a little worried, or a little excited. Most likely, we are feeling all of those emotions at various times or even all at once.
The cosmic energy this year has strong elements of uncertainty, revolution, power struggles and conflicts. But it also has exceptionally loving, spiritual and creative overtones as evidenced by Jupiter moving into Pisces and then moving to conjunct Neptune on April 11, 2022.
January 2022, likewise, opens with an exciting Sun trine Uranus transit. This transit is custom made for shaking off the doldrums. It will energize you to think and act in an innovative way and to bring the conditions you wish to see in 2022.
Venus and Mars will be tag-teaming each other all year and lining up with Pluto as they do so. Pluto rules the masses and change on a global level. Venus and Mars are personal planets that bring changes in personal consciousness. Altogether, we are challenged to roll with the global changes in a way that upgrades our personal awareness and responsiveness.
January 1: Sun Trine Uranus at 11 Degrees Capricorn/Taurus. Sun trine Uranus is such an appropriate transit to begin the new year. When the Sun is trine Uranus, we feel a sense of excitement about making changes. As you begin new habits this bright and shiny new year, think of ways to shake things up and use the inventive Uranus energy to bring the changes you want.
January 2: New Moon at 12 Degrees Capricorn. Once the New Year celebrations are over, the Capricorn New Moon on the 2nd brings the need to set objectives and intentions for the year. Jupiter at zero degrees Pisces at the same time, adds optimism, expansion and imagination to give those intentions extra power and “oomph.” The key takeaway is to think big and to use your imagination (Jupiter in Pisces), while carefully planning the steps to achieve your goals (New Moon in Capricorn).

January 8: Retrograde Venus Conjunct Sun at 18 Degrees Capricorn. Venus conjunct the Sun fires up your creativity and highlights your relationship to yourself and to others. This is a great time to socialize and to make business connections. Use Venus retrograde in Capricorn until January 28 to reassess your wants, needs and values. Because year 2022 is a time of great change, it is important to know what you want and/or need, so you can focus wisely.
January 10: Sun Sextile Neptune at 21 Degrees Capricorn/Pisces. Your creativity, imagination and intuition are through the roof under this easy connection of the Sun sextile Neptune. Just for this brief time, let your rational mind take a back seat and let your intuitive mind show you the possibilities of the new year. Mars square Neptune the next day isn’t so easy. A part of you wants to escape and chill out, while another part of you wants to get going and make something happen. Enjoy the calm and blissful feeling of Sun sextile Neptune while you can.
January 11: Mars Square Neptune 21 Degrees Sagittarius/Pisces. Conserve your energy and be nice to yourself when Mars is square Neptune. Your physical energy may be low and self-doubt isn’t far away. This is not the time to give in or to give up but, rather, to confront your fears and to rest up before you re-enter the fray.
January 14: Mercury Stations Retrograde at 10 Degrees Aquarius. Mercury retrograde in Aquarius moves back into Capricorn on January 26, before turning direct on February 4 at 24 degrees Capricorn. Planets become stronger during their retrograde periods due to their nearness to the earth. Though all of the things you may have heard about retrograde Mercury may apply, there is a blessing to Mercury retrograde. Mercury retrograde slows down communication and gives you a chance to regroup and revise. Look over plans and documents and correct any mistakes.
January 16: Sun Conjunct Pluto at 26 Degrees Capricorn. Sun conjunct Pluto can bring up all kinds of hidden emotions, stories and regrets. At the same time, retrograde Mercury sesquiquadrate Mars (135 degrees apart) in Aquarius/Sagittarius has you on edge and irritable. Avoid arguments and conflicts during this testy time. Things could blow up all out of proportion to the original conflict.
January 17: Full Moon at 27 Degrees Cancer/Capricorn. This promises to be a very emotional Full Moon. The Cancer Full Moon opposes the Sun in Capricorn setting up a conflict between the emotions (Moon in Cancer) and the head (Sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn). My best advice is to allow yourself to feel what you feel (Moon in Cancer), but to let your rational mind bring you back to reality (Sun in Capricorn).

January 18: Uranus Stations Direct at 11 Degrees Taurus. As Uranus stations direct in Taurus, it will begin to move closer to a square aspect with Saturn. We will continue to feel the dynamic tension between the old (Saturn) and the new (Uranus), limitation (Saturn) and progress (Uranus), that we felt all during 2021.
January 19: Sun Enters Aquarius.
January 24: Mars Enters Capricorn. Mars entering Capricorn amps up business and career matters. Apply for that dream job, start projects and/or advertise your product under Mars’ energizing rays.
January 29: Venus Stations Direct at 11 Degrees Capricorn.
January 30: Sun Square Uranus at 11 Degrees Aquarius/Taurus. Its best not to make concrete plans when the Sun is square Uranus as anything can happen under this unfettered aspect. Instead, let your ideas flow and brainstorm with others. You may gain
some absolutely astounding ideas under this “light bulb” aspect.
Moon Movement During January 2022: Note: The time of the Moon’s movement into a sign will vary depending on where you live.
January 1: Moon enters Capricorn
January 2: New Moon at 12 Degrees 20 Minutes Capricorn
January 3: Moon enters Aquarius
January 5: Moon enters Pisces
January 8: Moon enters Aries
January 10: Moon enters Taurus
January 12: Moon enters Gemini
January 15: Moon enters Cancer
January 17: Full Moon at 27 degrees 50 Minutes Cancer
January 17: Moon enters Leo
January 20: Moon enters Virgo
January 22: Moon enters Libra

I will be presenting a summary of the planetary energy and what to expect in the year 2022 at the Spiritual Center in Carbondale, Colorado on January 9, 2022, at 10:00 am.:
Light and dark in a time of major long-term change: A look at the United States Pluto return and Jupiter’s conjunction with Neptune. On February 22, 2022 after a 248+ year journey around the Zodiac, transiting Pluto lines up exactly with Pluto in the US birth chart. A lot of what we have been experiencing as a country, and as an individual resident of planet Earth, will be held up for scrutiny and transformation over the next year and one-half. This is harsh energy, but Jupiter entering Pisces and connecting with Neptune shows the way forward through using our capacity for compassion, heightened intuition, and imagination.
If you are in the area, I would love to see you there. No charge to attend, but a donation to A Spiritual Center would be appreciated.

I will be teaching a beginning astrology class via Zoom starting on February 17, 2022 for eight weeks. I am considering 3:00 pm MST until 4:30 MST each week, but am open to adjusting those times. Let me know if you are interested and, if so, what times would work the best for you. Reach out to me at ruby@astrology-classes.com.
THANK YOU FOR BEING MY LOYAL FRIENDS AND SUBSCRIBERS. HERE’S TO A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always. ― Mahatma Gandhi
Sagittarius energy adds a bit of a global or universal feeling to the December 2021 energy. The month opens with the Sun in Sagittarius conjunct Mercury, with Mercury quincunx Uranus. Ideas, especially new and even startling ideas, are flowing. Sagittarius and its ruling planet, Jupiter, relate to optimism, truth, higher mind and all things foreign. Sagittarius relates to “truth.” Not “truth” that others tell us is right. But our own Truth that we know to be true for us. The Sun connects with the South Node in Sagittarius for the last time until 2029. That connection coupled with the Taurus/Scorpio lunar eclipse from November 19 urges us to release old beliefs and old “truths” that are no longer relevant or true. This month:
- Live your truth.
- Try something new, whether new ideas or new actions.
- Liberate yourself, drop burdens that aren’t yours to carry.
- Find your sense of adventure in even the smallest things.
- Expand your mind. Try reading a book that is outside your normal reading list.
- Tune into abundance (Jupiter). Abundance is all around you.
- Let more joy, laughter, and optimism into your life.
December 1: Neptune Turns Direct at 20 Degrees Pisces. Neptune can manifest more easily when it is direct. Especially when it is in its home sign of Pisces, as it is now. Neptune can bring feelings of euphoria and bliss, but it can also bring feelings of loss of control, confusion, panic and hysteria. As I write this a new strain of the coronavirus has shown up in South Africa. Viruses are ruled by Neptune. Look for wild guesses, assumptions, speculation and confusion about what this really means. Wild stock market swings are likely.
Neptune is also the planet of euphoria, creativity and romance. We will all be better served by touring an art gallery or listening to inspiring music instead of giving into the darker, fearful side of Neptune.
December 3-4: New Moon Total Solar Eclipse at 12 Degrees Sagittarius. Think exaggerated and expanded everything (Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter) under this Sagittarius New Moon Solar Eclipse. Because of the Neptune uncertainty (see above) our moods may fluctuate (Neptune) between euphoric optimism and abject dread. Stay the course and walk the middle line between the two extremes. This Sagittarius Solar Eclipse provides the perfect energy to manifest your desires. The explorative, optimistic vibes add just the right fuel to propel you forward when coupled with the Neptunian imagination.

December 13: Mercury Enters Capricorn
December 13: Mars Enters Sagittarius.
I have always liked Mercury in Capricorn, because Capricorn grounds the sometimes-flighty energy of Mercury. Use this beneficial connection to further serious plans and ideas, especially regarding business matters.
Mars in Sagittarius Conjunct the South Node/Opposition the North Node forms a T-square with Jupiter. Squares can be challenging, but this one adds the fuel (Mars) and expansive energy (Jupiter) to jump start your ideas and plans. Squares do require you to put in effort to reap the rewards.
December 18: Full Moon at 27 Degrees Gemini/Sagittarius. Time to “speak your truth” under the Gemini Full Moon (opposite the Sagittarius Sun). You may receive exactly the information you were searching for. Because the Gemini Full Moon is trine Jupiter in Aquarius, be alert to any sudden flashes of insight that come your way. Gemini, as a dual sign, can present choices that need to be made. “Shall I go?” or “Shall I stay?” or “What shall I keep?” and “What shall I let go of?” Jupiter can bring a layer of protection in whatever choice you make.
December 19: Venus Retrograde Conjunct Pluto at 26 Degrees Capricorn. See December 25 when Venus also conjuncts Pluto. Today, with Venus retrograde, try not to obsess over any slights from friends or loved ones. A slightly miffed feeling could gain intensity and become a big, dramatic mess.
December 21: Sun Enters Capricorn. The grounded Sun in Capricorn until January 20, 2022, turns our attention to business, tradition and family. Decide that you have spent enough on holiday presents and decorations. Your pocketbook will love you! Instead, turn to tradition (Capricorn) to make the holidays bright. One of my most memorable Christmases featured a decorated Cottonwood tree branch when we were snowed in. That’s the Sun in Capricorn!
December 23: Nodes of the Moon Enter Scorpio/Taurus. There is a powerful, collective energy shift when the Nodes of the Moon change signs. On a personal level, the nodes help you align with your destiny. Those of you with your natal nodes in either Taurus or Scorpio will feel this shift the most as the Nodes move into Scorpio. NOTE: The Nodes generally move backward through the Zodiac.
December 24: Saturn Square Uranus at 11 Degrees Aquarius/Taurus. The Christmas holiday under a Saturn square Uranus aspect promises to be a study in unexpected events versus the need to present an old-fashioned, traditional holiday. With the emphasis on the mutable Sagittarius/Neptune energy, I strongly urge you to keep those traditions that mean a lot to you, but to make allowances for surprises and an “anything goes” vibe. Make a choice to have a fun and meaningful time (Sagittarius and Neptune), but keep your ability to laugh at disruptions (Uranus) and/or conflict (Saturn square Uranus).
December 25: Venus Conjunct Pluto at 25 Degrees Capricorn. Be careful with this one. Venus conjunct Pluto can bring on insecure feelings around close relationships. This is a classic indication of being prone to “looking for love in all the wrong places.” If you are in a committed relationship, the possibility of emotional manipulation can rear its ugly head. Instead, use this time to built a deeper level of trust and intimacy within the relationship
December 28: Jupiter Re-Enters Pisces. Jupiter in Pisces is a great way to finish the month. Jupiter is the co-ruler of Pisces so it is strong here. This placement will bring back a sorely missed attitude of compassion and care for our fellow citizens. Pisces Sun signs will feel a renewed sense of purpose and optimism as Jupiter transits your sign. If you have the Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Pisces, now is the time to Go.For.It! Jupiter in Pisces can be enjoyed until December 27, 2022.
Moon Movement During December 2021: Note: The time of the Moon’s movement into a sign will vary depending on where you live.
December 1: Moon enters Scorpio
December 3: Moon enters Sagittarius
December 4: New Moon and Total Solar Eclipse at 12 Degrees 22’ Minutes Sagittarius
