Astrology Transits October 2023–Balance & Reflection

As we look deeply within, we understand our perfect balance. There is no fear of the cycle of birth, life and death. For when you stand in the present moment, you are timeless — Rodney Yee

Out of clutter, find simplicity. From disorder, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. — Albert Einstein

I put two quotes up this month, because both seem to fit the current energy. I don’t remember a time when we have had so much uncertainty and unexpected events seem to happen out of the blue. The Sun is in Libra until October 23. Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, so there is the desire and the energy to embrace others, make peace and tune into the equilibrium of the cosmos.

However, simultaneous with the peaceful Libra energy is the fiery energy of Mars in Libra, Uranus in Taurus and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, with two eclipses. That is enough to stir things up. Mars calls for action, Uranus stirs things up and breaks chains and Pluto wants total control and/or transformation. My advice for this month is to create a web of peace, beauty and harmony around yourself (Libra). Then when the disruptive energy of Mars, Uranus and Pluto becomes strong from time to time, you have a place of calm, harmony and simplicity to retreat to. However, for maximum spiritual growth, let yourself be open to the transformative message of Pluto, Scorpio and the solar and lunar eclipses.

For everyone with planets near 27 degrees Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer, remember that everything in your life is up for review. The more you can transform what is no longer working the easier and more beneficial these challenging transits will be.

October 1: Mars Quincunx Uranus at 23 Degrees Libra/Taurus. Mars is the planet of action. It allows us to be assertive, action-oriented and direct. Uranus wants us to express ourselves authentically and to honor our individuality. The quincunx aspect brings a disconnect between the two. Mars in Libra quincunx Uranus creates a sense of frustration and impatience. Rather than letting yourself become impulsive and irritated, use Mars quincunx Uranus to generate new ideas, and to break through obstacles in innovative ways.

October 3: Venus Quincunx Neptune at 26 Degrees Leo/Pisces. Pull back from actively making decisions when Venus is quincunx Neptune. Venus in Leo will push you to put yourself front and center, while Neptune wants to withdraw from the world. Use this energy to watch an inspirational film or to have an at-home spa day.

October 4: Mercury Enters Libra. Mercury in Libra begins a more social time. Relationship matters are highlighted. Diplomacy and compromise should come a little easier now.

October 6: Venus Quincunx Pluto at 28 Degrees Leo/Capricorn. Venus quincunx Pluto brings intense interactions with others. An adjustment (quincunx) needs to be made between your ego needs (Venus in Leo) and someone else’s need to control (Pluto). Tread lightly now.

October 7: Sun Quincunx Jupiter at 14 Degrees Libra/Taurus. With both the Sun and Jupiter in Venus-ruled signs, Jupiter’s natural optimism helps smooth over any rough spots today. Since everyone will be feeling more optimistic, you can make headway in negotiations.

October 8: Venus Enters Virgo. Venus in Virgo until November 8 brings a certain amount of discernment to everyday matters relating to money saving and spending, relationship issues and organizational issues. This is also a good time to organize your house or garage and to get rid of the clutter.

October 10:  Venus Opposition Saturn at 1 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. You may be torn between pleasure (Venus) and duty (Saturn) when Venus is opposition Saturn. Be wary of engaging in a “pity party” or feelings of unworthiness. Instead, this aspect is wonderful for tackling jobs you have pushed aside and just doing them. You will feel an enhanced sense of accomplishment when the job is complete.

October 11: Sun Opposition Chiron at 17 Degrees Libra/Aries and Venus at 2 Degrees Virgo Sesiquiquadrate Chiron at 17 Degrees Aries. With both the Sun and Venus making an aspect to Chiron, you may find yourself going down memory lane. As you do so, give yourself permission to let go of painful, unhelpful associations. Insights you gain now will help you heal and move on.

October 12-13: Mars Enters Scorpio and Trines Saturn at 1 Degree Scorpio/Pisces. Mars in Scorpio trine Saturn calls for discipline and endurance. You may have erratic bursts of energy that just wear you out. Its much better to focus your energy in a steady, attentive way. You can accomplish a lot by doing so.

October 14: New Moon Solar Eclipse at 21 Libra. Eclipse quincunx Uranus at 22 Degrees Taurus and Opposition North Node at 25 Degrees Aries. The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra is about new beginnings and about relationship, partnership, advisors and even contract negotiations. The Sun and Moon are in an adjustment aspect with Uranus, which in itself is a harbinger of change. Eclipses shake things up, as does Uranus. Ask yourself: “What has become stagnant in my life? How can I breathe new life and excitement into outworn ideas, places and things.

The Libra Solar Eclipse is in opposition to the North Node in Aries. Ask yourself whether you are “going along to get along.” This Solar Eclipse in Libra is about finding harmony between your passive, peace loving side and your fiery warrior side. Libra energy always brings this dynamic to the forefront to be looked at again and again.

October 20: Sun and Mercury Square Pluto at 27 Degrees Libra/Capricorn. Those of you with the Sun or other planets between 22 degrees of the cardinal signs (Libra, Capricorn, Aries and Cancer) and 2 degrees of the fixed signs (Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo) will feel this square the most. In fact, since Pluto has hovered around 27 degrees of Capricorn for at least two years, you have felt the energy every time a planet transits over Pluto. Pluto calls for extreme transformation. When the Sun transits Pluto you are urged to consider making deep changes. Look to the house where your Sun and Moon fall to understand the area of your life that needs to change.

Under Mercury square Pluto, keep an open mind, let the other person speak and try to learn from the other person’s viewpoint. Power plays and ego trips can come out of the blue when the Sun and Mercury are square Pluto.

October 22: Mercury Enters Scorpio and Trines Saturn at Zero Degrees Scorpio. Planets are emboldened and are stronger when at zero degrees of any sign. Your powers of concentration are enhanced under Mercury trine Saturn. Mercury can sometimes cause scattered thoughts. However, when Mercury is trine Saturn you are able to focus deeply for maximum results.

October 22: Venus Trine Jupiter at 12 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Venus at 12 Degrees Virgo Sesquiquadrate Pluto at 28 Degrees Capricorn. Venus trine Jupiter is one of those sweetheart transits that help to even out the more challenging energy. Combine that with Venus Sesquiquadrate Pluto, which feels a little intense, and you have a day with positive high energy with a few blips along the way. It’s mostly beneficial – enjoy!

October 23: Sun Enters Scorpio. The energy changes dramatically, when the Sun leaves Libra and enters Scorpio. The Scorpio energy provides a higher level of intensity and individual courage is enhanced. Scorpio is known for mystery and introspection with the ability to dig below the surface and show the flaws. Use this time to bring your subconscious desires to the surface for manifestation.

October 24: Sun Trine Saturn at 1 Degree Scorpio/Pisces. Saturn brings rewards for hard work, responsibility and discipline. Now is one of those times when you can set realistic and achievable goals that have a good chance of manifestation. Put in a little extra effort now to reap your rewards for past efforts.

October 28: Full Moon Partial Eclipse at 5 Degrees Taurus. Mercury Conjunct Mars and Mercury and Mars Opposition Jupiter at 11 Degrees Scorpio/Taurus. This eclipse is the last one in a series of eclipses that occur on the Taurus/Scorpio axis. This eclipse will unearth any feelings of discontent around money and security (Taurus) and bring out deep hidden fears (Scorpio). Though that doesn’t sound so great, it actually is a perfect time to get in touch with your security needs and to more deeply understand your hidden motivations around money and security.

October 31: Venus Trine Uranus at 21 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Some exciting and unexpected news or events can happen when Venus is trine Uranus. If you like to gamble a wee bit, buy a few lottery tickets. Just remember that Uranus is a wild card, so nothing is for sure.

Astrology Transits May 2023 – Transformation

Change has a bad reputation in our society. But it isn’t all bad – not by any means. In fact, change is necessary in life – to keep us moving, to keep us growing, to keep us interested. Imagine life without change. It will be static, boring, dull. — Dr. Dennis O’Grady

The big news this month is the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. This Scorpio eclipse promises to be intense, emotional and, potentially, life changing. Eclipses are not a one-and-done type of energy. The effects of an eclipse last for six months, sometimes longer. This would be a great time to do your candle rituals and to affirm what you want to manifest during the next six months to a year.

  • Close your eyes and visual what you want. Its best not to be too focused on a certain outcome. Thus, “a loving, warm, supportive relationship, is much better than “I want X to love me.
  • Add emotion – the more emotion the better.
  • Use all five senses and your sixth intuitive sense to see yourself already achieving that goal.
  • Thank the universe, God or other spiritual entity that you relate to for bringing your good to you.
  • Understand that your desires begin to manifest as soon as you believe that they can happen.
  • Release to the universe while saying and believing, “this or something better is mine now.”

The more you can feel your emotions and feel the sense that your desires have already been fulfilled, the quicker your desires will manifest. However, rest assured the universe will bring you what you need at the right time for your spiritual evolution.

May 1: Sun Conjunct Mercury at 11 Degrees Taurus. Sun conjunct Mercury is a short-lived aspect that is excellent for writing, talking and all matters related to communication. Mercury is retrograde so be sure your thoughts and communication are clear and organized.

May 3: Mars Sesiquiquadrate Saturn at 20 Degrees Cancer/5 Degrees Pisces. Mars sesiquiquadrate Saturn is a frustrating aspect that feels like you have one foot on the gas (Mars) and the other foot on the brake (Saturn). Stay calm. Patience is definitely a virtue at this time.

May 4: Venus Square Neptune at 26 Degrees Gemini/Pisces. Venus square Neptune is one of those aspects that can be blissful or can tend towards confusion and delusion. Be especially careful regarding untested relationships under this aspect.

May 5: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 14 Degrees 58 Minutes Scorpio. Did I say INTENSE? If not, I’ll say it again – INTENSE. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio ushers in big changes over the next six months. This is especially true for the fixed signs (Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo); especially if you have planets within 9 to 20 degrees of those signs. Ask yourself whether you want to hold onto your collective past or to releasee some of the weight. Power issues are big — both issues with others wanting power over you and you giving away your power. This promises to be a very emotional eclipse, so give yourself the time and space to process your feelings as needed.

May 7: Venus Enters Cancer. Venus Quincunx Retrograde Pluto at Zero Degrees Cancer/Aquarius. Intensity (retrograde Pluto) in relationships (Venus). Express yourself, but don’t belabor the point. The energy is much too volatile under Venus quincunx Pluto. Adjustments (quincunx) need to be made, but wait until the energy is more conducive to discussions with others.

May 9:  Sun Conjunct Uranus at 19 Degrees Taurus. You are raring to go and ready to make changes when the Sun is Conjunct Uranus. Your inventive abilities are heightened, so use this time to find solutions to vexing problems.

May 13: Venus Trine Saturn at 6 Degrees Cancer/Pisces.  Venus trine Saturn is excellent for reassessing your friendships and relationships. You are serious and grounded, which helps you make the right decision regarding problematic relationships.

May 15: Mercury Turns Direct at 5 Degrees Taurus. This has been one of the most frustrating Mercury Retrograde periods for me in a long time. My refrigerator hit the dust, as did my computer and paper shredder. The refrigerator was at least 25 years old and the computer had started to act up, so it was all needed. I am reminded again that the universe creates opportunities for us to advance and find new opportunities. Flow with the setbacks and enjoy the opportunity to make corrections.

May 15: Mars Trine Neptune at 27 Degrees Cancer/Pisces.  Take action (Mars) toward your dreams (Neptune). Trines are easy energy, but they lack “oomph.” Neptune also lacks oomph. Mars trine Neptune adds the necessary push to make your dreams come true.

May 16-23: Jupiter Square Pluto at Zero Degrees Taurus/Aquarius. Zero degrees of a sign is considered to be a new beginning and a chance to forge new paths. Taurus relates to financial matters and security, while Aquarius is about working with groups and friends to achieve your aims. Jupiter brings abundance. Go for it and aim high under this highly beneficial aspect. However, because Mars forms a T-square with Jupiter and Pluto, this time period fosters a certain sense of craziness and hysteria. The evening news ought to be quite interesting. Stay calm; this too shall pass. Use the positive vibes and don’t get caught up in the “stuff.”

May 19: New Moon at 28 Degrees Taurus.  The New Moon in Taurus places your focus on the simple things in life, your security and your connection to the earth. Spend time enjoying and beautifying your home and garden, or buy a new house plant to nurture. Taurus is a sensual sign that delights in the five senses (hearing, touch, smell, and taste). Take time to enjoy the delights of nature. Watch the bees and revel in the beautiful new flowers. Take a long, nature walk or splurge on a new favorite perfume.

May 20: Mars Enters Leo. Mars Opposition Pluto at Zero Degrees Leo/Aquarius. Mars in Leo forms an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius. Mars opposition Pluto enhances your energy and motivation to get things done. Push yourself, not others, under Mars opposition Pluto. Actions taken now, can have very positive and long-reaching results.

May 21: Sun Enters Gemini. Sun Trine Pluto at Zero Degrees Gemini/Aquarius. The Sun in Gemini brings our attention to all matters relating to communication, teaching, learning and moving freely about. Sun in Gemini trine Pluto adds emphasis to our communication.

May 23: Mars Square Jupiter at 1 Degree Leo/Taurus. Mars square Jupiter is super for firing up your goals and for taking decisive action. Mars brings a burst of energy and the desire to take action, while Jupiter brings a sense of optimism. Together, they bring exuberance and a tendency to overdo and to take unnecessary risks. Use this dynamic Mars square Jupiter aspect to advance new projects. Just remember to stay grounded and to always act with integrity.

May 24: Venus Square Chiron at 18 Degrees Cancer/Aries. Consider letting go of painful and/or problematic relationships. Venus square Chiron blesses you with the opportunity for more positive and life-enhancing relationships. Such relationships can only appear when you let go of the negative connections.

May 28: Sun Square Saturn at 6 Degrees Gemini/Pisces. Sun square Saturn is an excellent aspect for steady accomplishment. Contrast this with Mars square Jupiter on May 23rd. Sun square Saturn gives you the patience and fortitude to tackle vexing obstacles and to make tough decisions.

Solar Eclipse June 10, 2021 – New Ideas and Plans

June 10:  Solar Eclipse at 19:47 Degrees Gemini.

Sun Conjunct Mercury at 20 Degrees Gemini Square Neptune at 23 Degrees Pisces. I have heard from many people that the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius was challenging for them. Full Moons, and especially a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, mean that something in your life has reached fruition.  It is time to let it go and to clear your psyche so the new can enter at the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini.

So much has changed over the last year and many of you are feeling out of sync, unsettled and rudderless. However, over the next six months you will understand that the Eclipses have helped you gather and evaluate new ideas that will propel you forward in a beneficial way. The Gemini Solar Eclipse focuses on better ways of communicating, new ideas, new plans and new ways of expressing yourself. Let the “new” energy percolate until after Mercury turns direct on June 24; then let it shine and manifest.

In addition, the ongoing square between Saturn and Uranus moves to a closer-than-ever conjunction.  This square has been with us all year and will continue in varying degrees of magnitude through the end of the year.  When the planets move closer together it ramps up the intensity.  If you have put off making a needed change in your life, the eclipses and the close Saturn/Uranus square may be just what you need to revamp your life.

Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse

May 26:  Full Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse at 5 Degrees Sagittarius/Gemini. This Sagittarius Full Moon has entirely different vibes than last month’s Scorpio Full Moon.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius is much more light hearted and playful. All full Moons are emotional, but this one is more geared toward playfulness, partying and communication.  The Sun and Moon are square Jupiter in Pisces, which brings a challenge around over exuberance, exaggeration and a tendency to throw caution to the winds. Be aware, and if going out be sure to have a designated driver.  Those with personal planets from 0 to 10 degrees of the mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo) will feel this Sagittarius Full Moon  most strongly.

Simultaneously with the full Moon lunar eclipse, Venus and Mercury are square Neptune.  This can add an element of confusion and mistrust to the energy of the eclipse.  With the Moon in Sagittarius, the sign of truth and beliefs, vow to speak your own truth and to focus on understanding how your truth meshes with those around you.

Also, with Saturn (limitation) squaring Uranus (the new and exciting), let go of limiting ideas and beliefs. Doing so lets you move toward a freer way of being and thinking.

It’s best not to push too hard to make changes now. Mercury and Venus will soon move retrograde.  Let the retrograde assist you in letting the energy unfold as it will without stress or undue forcing. The new energy will flow in at the New Moon Solar Eclipse on June 10 at 19 degrees Gemini.
