The human spirit knows no race, no gender or bias. It’s pure and resides in each. Do not overlook its need to be recognized. – Unknown
The month of November opened with Neptune trining the Sun. As the United States completes its march towards the contentious 2016 presidential and congressional elections we are in the midst of a fire storm of innuendos, falsehoods (Neptune), anger (Mars) and depression (Mars/Neptune or anger turned inward).
I, like many others, have had to work hard to not become emotionally involved in the chaos. I find that the more I tune into the “what ifs,” the more I lose sight of my true being. It is time for me to think on a higher level (Neptune) and to once again tune into my true essence. We are love and we need to recognize it and turn our loving, compassionate face outward.
The upcoming full Moon in Taurus on November 14 would be a wonderful time to mediate and to light a candle to symbolically light the way for the ongoing world struggles. There is a strong Neptunian emphasis this month. Neptune is either illusion and cloudy, addictive thinking or it is the highest possible spiritual essence. The more we can all tune into this higher human spirit the better for planet earth and its inhabitants.
Venus trines Uranus on the 5th of November and then forms a sextile to Neptune on the 19th. Venus is out of bounds by declination, which means that the Venus energy is strong and is deeply infused into everything that happens. It is as if Venus takes over the chart at that time. Because the Venus energy is very strong all month, it is a good time for love—both personally and in Venus’ highest vibration as it relates to universal love.
Now to election day and beyond:
On November 7, sexy, mysterious and powerful vibes are dancing when the Sun sextiles Pluto at 15 degrees Scorpio/Capricorn. This is a power combination that can be tremendously beneficial in helping you move toward your goals. Will power and the ability to focus are at a high level. However, this combination can also bring extreme power plays, bullying and manipulation. Be careful around those who could pose a threat in any way.
Interestingly, the day starts with the Moon void-of-course in Aquarius, which means it is not making any aspects to other planets. A void-of-course Moon is often interpreted as “nothing will come of it.” Thus, things could seem deceptively quiet during the morning hours.
That changes in the afternoon when the Moon enters Pisces and begins to aspect other planets. The aspects to the Moon become very active on November 9, when the Moon conjuncts Neptune, squares Saturn, sextiles Pluto and trines the Sun. Obviously, emotions, confusion and power plays are running high at that time.
In addition, Mars at zero degrees of Aquarius on November 9, points to out of control anger and a revolutionary tone to the days energy. Zero degrees of a sign is a “act first, think later” energy. Stay safe and resolve to not be part of the problem. This will be true whether you live in the US or elsewhere, it will just show up in a different way in other countries.
On November 14, the full, super Moon at 22 degrees Taurus forms an opposition aspect to the Sun in Scorpio. Those things that have to do with values, money, survival, intimacy, sex, resources and power (or lack thereof) will be the focus. Because full Moons are a culmination point, it will especially impact those things that were set in motion at the time of the last new Moon on October 30, 2016.
Neptune turns direct on November 19 after being retrograde since June 30, 2016. During most of 2016, Neptune the planet of illusions, dreams and false realities flirted with an aspect to Saturn, the planet of limitation and sober attention to stark reality. When it turns direct, we can no longer ignore the things we didn’t face during Neptune’s long retrograde period. Sticking our head in the sand will no longer work.
When the Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 21, it is time to assess your personal truth. You can no longer afford to base your life on other people’s idea of truth. This will be especially evident on November 29 and 30 when both the Sun and the new Moon in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces. Unfortunately, religious differences could escalate under this aspect.
The asteroid Chiron turns stationery direct on November 30, bringing some much-needed healing energy to the world.

Go back?” he thought. “No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!” So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit

Finally, after a tumultuous September, a bright spot of optimism surfaces through the gloom and confusion.
The first week of October opens on an optimistic, energetic note. The wheels are turning, engines are firing, deals are being made and the impetus is toward action and forward movement.
I am very glad to let go of September. The Mercury retrograde right on the mid-point of the two eclipses in the eclipse portal was hard to deal with. It was, without a doubt, one of the most confusing, and most upsetting Mercury retrograde periods that I (and many of you) have had to deal with.
The month of October opened with the Sun and Jupiter (the planet of optimism) in the cardinal sign of Libra where they were joined by a new Moon on the first. Mercury joins the Libra party on October 7. Cardinals signs are all about action and starting new things and a new Moon is the beginning of a new 30-day cycle.
The abundance of energy in Libra, the sign of relationships, stirs up all kinds of relationship issues. Many of you will be re-evaluating a current relationship or magically entering a new relationship with lots of promise. Of course, Libra can also show changes in close friendships or business partnerships.
The Full Moon on October 15 is a super Moon that will be conjunct Uranus and the dwarf planet Eris in the sign of Aries. At the same time (through the 18th), Mars is conjunct Pluto and Mercury squares Pluto. Look for volatile, extreme energy during this super Moon. World events and the political scene could reach a boiling point. Earthquakes, high water and extreme weather are another probability.
It would be wise to stay away from any kind of provocation or angry people, especially if you have planets near 23 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn. Arguments can quickly escalate and neither side will want to compromise.
Because of the many Libra planets, relationships and partnerships can suffer under this full Moon. Delay any relationship “talks” until a time when the energy is less intense and less volatile.
Looking at the bright side of this configuration, it is excellent energy to push you into new ventures. It can bring breakthroughs and new beginnings. Innovation and quirky (but wonderful) new ideas can emerge (Uranus).
Putting an exclamation mark on the theme of moving forward with lots of energy is Mars’ entry into Capricorn on October 2, where it will reside for the next two years. In addition, Pluto in Capricorn is finally out of its retrograde period. If you have been thinking of starting a new venture of any kind this could be the month to start the process.
In summary: Rekindle optimism, move forward, stay safe and begin to implement new techniques and businesses, and enjoy relationships of all kinds.
Don’t let the agony, regret, or fog of yesterday blind you to the fact that each new day carries with it a plethora of opportunities to move your life into the right direction.― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
We are being bombarded by an excess of planetary energy during the month of September. This excessive energy has the potential to leave you feeling anxious and confused. However, if you do the work required by this eclipse, it promises to clear out the cobwebs and to eventually bring greater clarity. The fog and confusion will clear and a new focus will move in by the first week in October. Here is a quick summary of the major September transits.
- Mercury retrograde in Virgo until September 22nd.
- Saturn at 10 degrees Sagittarius conjunct Mars at 14 degrees Sagittarius.
- Saturn and Mars square Neptune and the South Node in Pisces.
- New Moon Solar eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo on September 1. The Sun, Moon and Nodes are square Saturn/Mars and oppose Neptune.
- Full Moon Lunar eclipse at 24 degrees Pisces/Virgo on September 16
Those of you with the Sun, Moon and personal planets in the mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius and Gemini) will feel the effects of the September eclipses the most strongly.
Eclipses shake things up and often have the theme of letting go of something that is holding you back and then moving toward a new (and better) reality. The first half of September moves things that have been brewing all year into a crisis point:
- You feel the urge to take action and a new direction feels both liberating and totally scary.
- You want to take action, but you feel stuck and confused.
- You ask: What action? And how can I take any action when I feel so stuck?
It is best to realize that this is a very unstable, unsettling period. If possible, put off making major decisions until early October when clarity returns. Use this time to let go of limiting beliefs, people and circumstances. In October you can begin to take baby steps toward a new reality. The way will open up as you move along.
If you must take immediate action, do so thoughtfully and responsibly and avoid impulsive actions and making rash decisions. Ask yourself: “What will be accomplished by acting immediately without appropriate thought? Would my time be better spent laying a firm foundation under my new plans and desires?”
Meanwhile, let go of wishful thinking (Neptune) and view your options in the cold, hard light of reality (Saturn). Use your intuition (Neptune and Pisces) to become more clear about what you should let go of and what you should carefully build on (Saturn). Make sure that the decisions you make are yours. Banish the Neptunian tendency to internalize what someone else wants for you. Let go of old feelings of indebtedness, guilt and martyrdom.
The September 2016 eclipses are truly a chance to let go of what is no longer working and to carefully and responsibly (Saturn) move toward those things that will be more in tune with your heart’s desire (Moon). Not easy, but necessary for a happier future.

There is progress whether ye are going forward or backward! The thing is to move! — Edgar Cayce
The month of August 2016 finds us primed and ready for action and new adventures. The new Moon on August 2nd in the sign of Leo set the stage for forward momentum, personal confidence and taking the lead toward your goals. The new Moon each month is a great time to set goals for the coming month.
Mars, the planet of action, finished its backward journey into Scorpio on June 29. It moved out of Scorpio into Sagittarius on August 2nd and is now moving confidently forward through that sign. I can almost hear all of you Scorpios, and those of you with key planets in Scorpio, letting out a collective sigh of relief.
Saturn, the planet of limitation, hard work and practicality will turn forward direct on August 13 in the sign of Sagittarius. Work and projects that were started in mid-April this year can now be fired up again, reworked and successfully implemented. Pay attention to what transpires around August 13 as that energy will be front and center during the September 1 solar eclipse.
When the planet of action (Mars) joins the planet of practicality (Saturn) on August 22, it is time to pull out all the stops in moving toward your goals. Mars’ impetuous actions are harnessed when it contacts Saturn–action meets reality and lays down a firm foundation. Any progress made now through the month of August will have lasting results.
The minor full Moon lunar eclipse on August 18 on the Aquarius/Leo axis is beneficial for letting go of unused, unwanted and unnecessary possessions (and yes, even people) in your life. This is especially true for the fixed signs (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus). If ever there were a time to “thing big” this is it! An aura of excitement, opportunity and “specialness” is in the air. Leos in particular, may feel new energy around love.
The Sun enters Virgo on August 22, where it will be joined by the Moon on September 1 when it forms a new Moon solar eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo. This will be a strong eclipse that will be opposing Neptune and squaring Saturn. Those with their Sun or other personal planets in Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini will feel the effects of the eclipse most strongly.
The energy changes on August 30 when Mercury turns retrograde (apparent backward motion) at 29 degrees Virgo. Mercury resumes forward motion on September 21 at 14 degrees Virgo. Retrograde Mercury gives you an excellent opportunity to reassess and fine tune the plans you made and the projects you started in the first part of August.
In closing consider this quote by Steve Jobs: You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. – Steve Jobs
