September always makes me think of harvesting. I think of sweet-smelling hay bales curing in the Sun and of harvesting all of the fruits, vegetables and grains that flourished during the summer. September is also time to go back to school and back to work after summer vacations. This is right in tune with the Virgo energy. Virgo is an Earth sign that wants to be of service by using its considerable intellect to analyze and make things better and more nearly perfect.
With the Sun in Virgo until September 22 and Venus in Virgo until September 29, its time to spend some time analyzing your failures, near misses and successes. As the season changes, its helpful for each of us to set a new game plan for navigating the rest of the calendar year. If you are a Virgo Sun sign, it is doubly important to do so. We really do reap what we sow and Virgo can help us perfect our priorities and game plan. Happy Harvest!
September 1: Mars Sextile Jupiter at 6 Degrees Gemini/Aries. Mars sextile Jupiter gifts you with abundant energy (Mars), confidence and enthusiasm (Jupiter) to get things done and to achieve your goals. Enjoy!
September 2: Venus Quincunx Pluto at 27 Degrees Leo/Capricorn; Mercury Opposition Jupiter at 6 Degrees Libra/Aries. When Venus and Pluto interact with each other, the energy becomes intense and dicey. Don’t push others right now as everyone is especially sensitive to perceptions of control. Mercury opposition Jupiter brings a sense of over confidence as to who is really right or who is really wrong. Tread carefully.
September 5: Venus Enters Virgo. Venus Sesquiquadrate Chiron at 0 Degrees Virgo/15 Degrees Aries. Venus in Virgo is very active this month as it aspects many of the other transiting planets. Venus has high discernment ability when in Virgo. Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron urges you to use this discernment to let go of painful relationships and to gravitate toward relationships that are supportive and fulfilling.
September 9: Venus Quincunx Jupiter at 5 Degrees Virgo/Aries. Venus quincunx Jupiter brings the need for an adjustment (quincunx aspect) with regard to your heart’s desire (Venus). Spend some time asking yourself what you really want in life and then commit to making the adjustments needed to manifest that desire.
September 9: Mercury Turns Stationary Retrograde at 8 Degrees Libra. Mercury turns retrograde in Libra, then transits backward into Virgo on September 23. It ends its retrograde walkabout on October 2 at 24 degrees Virgo. Use this strong Mercury retrograde energy to sort out your life and to declutter your surroundings and brain. Get rid of what you don’t need. Ask yourself: “Do I really need two versions of the same book or other unused item? Have I even used the item in the last six months?”
September 10: Full Moon at 17-18 Degrees Pisces. The Full Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune is an extremely sensitive, perceptive and emotional Moon. Be kind to yourself, as you may feel insecure and even a little bit “lost.” Those feelings can best be mitigated and become more useful by using the Pisces Full Moon to tune into your creative and spiritual side. Who knows, you could even produce a musical or artistic masterpiece under this imaginative Moon. Its best to avoid escapism habits such as drinking too much alcohol or taking mind-altering drugs under a Pisces Full Moon. Under this Moon, you can tune into other realms without the need for such artificial escapism tools.
September 11: Sun Trine Uranus at 18 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. The Sun trine Uranus is exciting, stimulating and inventive. Use this electrifying energy to try something new, invent something amazing or to break out of non-productive habits and situations.
September 12: Sun Quincunx Saturn at 19 Degrees Virgo/Aquarius. The Sun quincunx Saturn brings grounding to yesterday’s Sun trine Uranus. The two aspects together are superb for tackling seeming obstacles and for making hard decisions.
September 16: Venus Square Mars at 14 Degrees Virgo/Gemini. Sun Opposition Neptune at 24 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. Venus square Mars is a mixed blessing for romantic relationships. It intensifies both physical attraction and ego issues around any conflicts in the relationship. Venus wants everything to be “nice” and easy, while Mars amplifies your ego needs and self-assertion. If you are looking for love, this transit may bring you an attractive potential partner, but your ability to discriminate between a healthy or unhealthy relationship is lacking. Be careful when meeting potential, new partners.
September 18-19: Mercury Opposition Jupiter at 4 Degrees Libra/Aries. Mercury Sesquiquadrate Uranus at 3 Degrees Libra/18 Degrees Taurus. Mercury opposition Jupiter is helpful for contract negotiations, planning sessions and brainstorming ideas. However, be careful that all points are clear as you do so. Mercury is retrograde and Jupiter can make you overly optimistic. Pay attention to details and go over pertinent points carefully. It would also be wise to sleep on any potential decisions before committing yourself. Mercury in a challenging aspect to Uranus can push you to make snap decisions that you will later regret.
September 20: Venus Trine Uranus at 18 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Venus Quincunx Saturn at 19 Degrees Virgo/Aquarius. You can feel a sense of boredom, the desire for something new and exciting and the urge to free yourself from restraints and responsibilities when Venus is trine Uranus. Venus quincunx Saturn helps to keep you grounded. The quincunx aspect calls for an adjustment (quincunx) between your thirst for the untried (Uranus) and the need for restraint (Saturn).
September 22: Sun Enters Libra at the Fall Equinox at 9:03 pm Eastern Time. Our focus shifts to issues of partnership, balance, equilibrium and fairness when the Sun transits Libra until October 22.
September 24: Venus Opposition Neptune at 23 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. Your ideals and yearnings are amplified when Venus is opposition Neptune, but your judgment may be clouded. Be careful with starting new romantic or business relationships under this transit. Similarly, your expectations of an ongoing relationship may be unrealistic. Get in touch with your inner landscape to get the most from this Venus Opposition Neptune aspect.
September 25: New Moon at 2-3 Degrees Libra Opposition Jupiter in Aries. The Libra New Moon opposition Jupiter is a “feel good” Moon that brings out your generous, benevolent (Jupiter) feelings. However, Jupiter in Aries, adds a bit of independent, freedom-oriented tinge to the positive energy. You may be questioning certain aspects of your closest relationships; especially with regard to whether the balance of power and the distribution of duties are fair and equitable (Libra). The New Moon in Libra is a good time to address any such issues.
September 26: Venus Conjunct Mercury Trine Pluto at 26 Degrees Virgo/Capricorn. All of your emotions are felt more intensely when Venus is trine Pluto. Deep feelings and deep conversations may surface with Retrograde Mercury also trine Pluto. Mercury trine Pluto is excellent for going within to get in touch with your deepest desires and inclinations. This aspect is an excellent time to explore such matters with your therapist, spiritual counselor or astrologer.
September 26: Sun Opposition Jupiter at 3 Degrees Libra/Aries. Optimistic, cheerful vibes dance all around you under this Sun opposition Jupiter aspect. The only cautions are to be wary of over extending yourself and/or giving into a tendency to be self-righteous and overbearing.
September 27: Mercury Trine Pluto at 26 Degrees Virgo/Capricorn. Mercury trine Pluto in the earth signs of Virgo and Capricorn is beneficial for looking within and for self-understanding. Retrograde Mercury makes this process especially productive. Conversations with others under Mercury trine Pluto tend to be serious deep and probing.
September 29: Venus Enters Libra. Venus had some deep, possibly life-changing interactions with Pluto while in Virgo. Venus in Libra lightens the mood considerably. Venus rules Libra, so it feels right at home here. Venus in Libra turns our attention to relationships, fairness, compromise and beauty. Enjoy this beautiful energy until October 23, 2022.
