Astrology Transits April 2018 – Power, Control and Steady Progress

Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal — Ralph Vaull Starr

The month opens with Mars, Saturn and Pluto all transiting through Capricorn; and all are square transiting retrograde Mercury. Their message to you is to re‑evaluate (Mercury retrograde), transform (Pluto), structure (Saturn) and then take action (Mars). This careful energy is offset by the Sun, Mercury and Uranus all transiting through Aries square the Capricorn planets. The Sun and Uranus project a very strong, dynamic energy. You may be frustrated and impatient (Sun and Uranus) because nothing seems to be progressing as it should. Saturn square the Sun can bring feelings of tiredness, a slight depression and a general sluggish feeling. From late March through the middle of April is an excellent time to set goals and to make plans on how to accomplish those goals. Once Mercury turns direct on April 15, you will be in a good position to move forward in a less-obstructed way.

Venus was conjunct Uranus during late March and then enters Taurus on March 31. You may have seen some rather erratic relationship actions during late March due to the planet of love and relationship connecting with the planet of sudden and/or strange actions.

March 31: Full Moon at 10 Degrees Libra Square Mars and Saturn in Capricorn. This is a challenging full Moon, especially for all relationship matters. You will be prone to seeing all of the faults and negatives in others. You will also be more than ready to show your anger and to fight about any such flaws. Others will also be feeling this energy and will be noticing and pointing out your flaws. Better to use this time to work hard and to move toward any career or service goals. Wait to address relationship matters until a more auspicious time. This is not the best time to take dare devil actions that could result in broken bones. Be extra kind to your bones and teeth during the several days before and after this full Moon.

April 1, Mars Conjunct Saturn at 8 Degrees Capricorn. While this energy is in force, hard work is the order of the day. There is a distinct breakdown in the communication of these two planets. Mars wants to progress full speed ahead without caution, while Saturn wants to be cautious and to keep its nose to the grindstone. Much progress can be made at this time if you are able to blend the two energies. Otherwise, this push me, pull me, energy can be exhausting. You would be wise to be clear about your purpose, your plans and your desired outcome during this challenging time. Those with Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra natal contacts will be especially impacted by this energy.

April 7: Venus Trine Saturn at 9 Taurus/Capricorn.  Venus, the planet of “blessings received” trine Saturn, the planet of business bodes well for gains through your job or business endeavor(s).  It is an especially good time to make long range plans, especially when those plans involve the significant others in your life.

April 10 to 12: Sun Square Pluto 20-21 Aries/Capricorn.  Everyone wants to be in control, egos are pumped up and crisis and conflicts of all kinds prevail.  You may find that you are dealing with long-buried psychological issues.  Think before you act, as many of your actions will stem from unconscious motivations during this intense time period.  Be forewarned that it takes courage to face your demons.  However, to the extent you can do so, this is an unparalleled time to transform and heal deep wounds.  It is important to be aware of what is really going on in your psyche.

Sun Inconjunct Jupiter at 21 Aries/Scorpio; Pluto Sextile Jupiter at 21 Capricorn/Scorpio.  Power plays and power struggles are likely, both in your own circle and globally.  The inconjunct aspect is like a never-ending irritation that is hard to resolve.

April 11 to 13:  Venus Trine Mars at 14 Degrees Taurus/Capricorn; Venus Sextile Neptune at 14 Degrees Taurus/Pisces; and Mars Sextile Neptune at 14 degrees Capricorn/Pisces.  These transits give us a lovely break from the Saturn energy.  They offer an ease and a flowing energy for getting closer to those you love, writing poetry, planting flowers or taking a dreamy walk in nature.  Enjoy!

April 15: Mercury turns direct at 4 degrees Aries.

April 16: New Moon at 26 Degrees Aries Conjunct Uranus at 28 degrees Aries.  Now is the time to really move forward and to wake up from the doldrums of the first two weeks of April.  Mercury is now moving direct and the Sun and Moon conjunct Uranus is a prime time to develop and implement any innovative or unusual ideas that you have been nurturing.  New directions of all kinds are favored whether you are ready or not.

Sun Conjunct Uranus in Aries.  I liken this energy to that of the sparks that fly when you walk over a nylon carpet or when the air becomes charged before a thunderstorm.  Indeed lightning strikes and unsettled, volatile, extreme weather could be part of this tension-filled aspect.  Keep a low profile, drive defensively and do not invite confrontations with others.  Extreme social upheaval, social justice marches and conflicts, political showdowns, clashes and skirmishes are likely.  Keep a cool head and be the voice of reason in any way that you can.  Instead of conflict, use this super-charged energy to advance humanitarian or social causes in a peaceful way.

April 17:  Chiron Enters Aries.  Chiron, the asteroid known as the wounded healer, begins its 50-year journey through Aries. Aries is the “I am” energy. Chiron in Aries wants you to be aware that you are here for a reason.  You have the right to exist and thrive, even with all of your faults and less-than-perfect actions. Learn to be proud of who you are, even as you strive to better yourself.

April 18:  Saturn Turns Retrograde at 9 Degrees Capricorn.  Saturn retrograde in Capricorn previews the prevailing theme of the summer.  Its message underscores the movement of Uranus into Taurus on May 15, 2018.  Saturn retrograde in Capricorn turns the focus to the need to consolidate, prioritize and plan.  It says, “Do you really need that new thingamajig right now at whatever cost?”  The answer is “No, you probably don’t.”

This is an excellent time to meet with a financial planner to go over your finances.  It may no longer be prudent to have risky stocks in your portfolio.  A plan to pay off your credit cards or to otherwise become debt free is another excellent way you can use Saturn retrograde in Capricorn to its best use.  A trip or two to the recycling center would also be in order.  While this is true for everyone, those with planets from 2 to 10 degrees of the cardinal signs (Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra) will be especially affected.

April 19:  Sun Enters Taurus.

April 22:  Pluto turns Retrograde at 21 Degrees Capricorn.  Pluto will be retrograde until September 30, 2018, giving us a long time to work on our hidden motivations, attitudes, emotions and needs.  Retrograde Pluto forces us to look at our power and control issues. Some of us give away our power too often, while others resort to bullying tactics in order to protect ourselves.  Most of us do both, though we often don’t realize it.  Both types of power issues will come to the forefront during this long backwards transit.

This is also a superb time to regenerate yourself.  This can be through weight loss or gain, a total body cleanse, detoxing and some form of psychological renewal such as meditation, yoga or tai chi.

April 24:  Venus enters Gemini.

April 29:  Full Moon at 9 Degrees Scorpio.  This brings more of the Plutonian stuff.  Deep soul searching and renewal and regeneration activities are favored.

April 2018 certainly seems to be a somewhat challenging month, though progress can certainly be made. I wold love to hear your thoughts on this interesting energy. How has year 2018 affected you so far?

  • Hi Dear Ruby, i found you a few wks ago and joined. i am v. v. grateful to finally find someone way more open minded than most people on this subject (astrology) and probably on many topics. You most like are an evolved v. loving Soul. (ps, i am an Energy Healer & teacher (how to conenct to infinite levels of cosmic Consciousness and do chaneling of energy for healing, knowledge much more. So when the beautiful Human (3.5 Dim limited) mind opens and allows the Soul to guide it we wake up, and start rec’vg much Higher info (via a meditative state of mind). I have alwasy dabbled in astrology and am delighted to join this ‘class’ and hopefully speak with you about all sorts of topics… my birthday 10-25-61, born in EU. … this month has been too weird, business is way too slow…getting ‘et and dark’ selfish energies (exist in 4D) interferences w/ daily life. cell ph and laptop both had a melt down with virus’s or hacking??? are you all going thru EMF disturbances too.

Moon info in astrology: is funny to me, as the Moon is a et made Satellite/ huge base(it is like a giant hollow space ship, like darth vader’s in star wars), Moon does NOT spin, 1 clue its fake, as all living planets spin, everything alive in the cosmos vibrates, spirals, needs to rotate or turn)
Richard Hoagland, David Wilcock and many others have vast data and many pic’s of the moon and structures on it. see what you feel after you chk that out…. its quite amazing that we humans are told is all a lie and what they are told is fake is not.
much Light and Love to you. A.

Thank you Aranka for you comments and insights. I do believe that energy healing and such modalities will come into their own much more strongly under the influence of Uranus in Taurus starting on May 15, 2018. Taurus rules the earth and earth energies and Uranus rules forward thinking, innovative ideas and actions. Its interesting that you mentioned EMF disturbances. A very dear friend of mine just gifted me with a salt lamp. I spend long hours at my computer so am always exposed to unhealty EMFs. The salt lamp seems to mitigate those effects.

Regarding your comments on the meditative state of mind, I have found that when I am with a client doing a reading, whether in person or via telephone, I often do not remember what I have told them. It is as if a higher power takes over and guides my words. Of course, I have already spent plenty of time in my mechanical mind determining the relevant elements of the chart and what needs to be discussed. It often all seems like a miracle.

I actually think the Moon is very important and key in astrology. Often, when it comes to compatibility with another, the Moon is much more important and instructive than the Sun. The Moon is what you NEED on a deep emotional level. It is also extremely important in timing matters. Because it moves so fast around the Zodiac it is easy to overlook its importance. If you have any Cancer friends, an interesting experiment would be to see how they react to the full Moon each month. Cancerians are very tuned into the Moon and often become very emotional and touchy during those times. This is especially true if the full Moon is in Cancer. As a Sun sign Scorpio this would also be true for you. All of the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) are very tuned into the lunar water, emotional energy.

Wishing you luck in building your business during this exciting but challenging time.
