It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. — Alan Cohen inspirational author

This year’s spring eclipse season is exceptionally dynamic. It has brought, and will continue to bring, big changes, angst and fluctuating moods amidst the uncertain signals from the universe. Many, if not most, of us are feeling as though we are sailing in a rough ocean on a small boat without our sea legs. That feeling will continue through the first part of April.

The energy of the March 20 solar eclipse is triggered once again on March 30 and 31 when Mercury enters Aries and the sun conjuncts the South Node at 10 degrees Aries and opposes the North Node in Libra. The Nodes have a karmic signature and their position in relation to the Moon is what allows an eclipse to happen. The Sun and the Nodes indicate a “turning of the page.” The focus will be on what you have been resisting, especially regarding courageously moving toward your destiny. The Sun (you and your personal best) conjunct the South Node emphasizes letting go of the past and those things that no longer serve you (South Node). Look to the natal house that contains 5 to 15 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) to find the life area where the change needs to happen. Any contact of the transiting planets with your natal planets or angles can be significant.

The high octane lunar eclipse occurs on April 4 with the Sun at 14 degrees Aries conjunct Uranus, the Moon at 14 degrees Libra and both the Sun and Moon squaring Pluto. In addition, Mercury is conjunct the South Node. The sky contains an overabundance of impetuous, radical energy. Things are being shaken loose and realigned. Expect the unexpected and be careful while traveling during the week before and after the eclipse. My best advice is to just go with the flow while keeping your wits about you. Expect emotional reactions from yourself and others, along with fluctuating opinions and stances. Emotions and beliefs will be running hot and cold.
Jupiter turns stationary direct on April 8 at 12 degrees Leo. You can now move forward optimistically with those things that had to be revised or put on the back burner when Jupiter turned retrograde on December 8, 2014. The Sun conjunct Mercury on the 9th brings more clarity and focus.

Pluto stations retrograde on April 17 at 15 degrees Capricorn, where it continues its retrograde motion until September 24, 2015. As Pluto slowly moves away from its square with Uranus, you should start to feel some relief from the recent intensity. With Saturn already retrograde in Sagittarius until August 1, 2015, this spring and summer would be an ideal time to go over old plans and ideas and throw out what is no longer working. The good thing about these two planets in retrograde is that they will allow you to take charge of things (Pluto) and to build a more secure foundation (Saturn) under any plans that you have been making. Then in late summer and early fall you will be in a position to move forward confidently.

Breathe a sigh of relief on April 20 when the Sun enters Taurus where it joins Mercury and Mars. The stable Taurean energy is a relief after the predominantly Arian sky that we have been experiencing. This is an excellent time to move forward with plans. Things that have been chaotic or have simply not materialized as you would like, will now be more stable. Financial matters are especially favored under the Taurus planets.

Once again, I am in awe of the way that the planets nudge us toward our true desires. The upheaval of the Uranus/Pluto square was literally a planetary fight between the old and the new. The two eclipses cracked our hard shell and, in some cases brought us to our knees, so that we would be open to a more fulfilling way of life. The only thing left for us to do is to have the courage to move forward even when the road is not always clear and to find our true security in a new way of being.
