The New Moon in Leo on July 28 certainly sets the stage for ushering in the Leonine energy. It’s time to express your personal power, dignity and authentic style. Leo has the quality of royalty and leadership. Jupiter trine the Leo New Moon expands those qualities. Leo is about self-expression and individuality, while Jupiter rules the truth. Ask yourself: “What is the authentic truth about myself and who I am. Am I expressing that truth in my dealings with others?”
Jupiter turns retrograde at this time also. Set your intentions regarding your truth and when Jupiter resumes forward motion on November 25, you can confidently move forward in your own genuine, authentic, true-to-self way.
It’s a busy month chock full of spiritual insights and healing, but also full of challenging, chaotic energy.
August 1: Mars Conjunct Uranus and North Node at 18 Degrees Taurus, Opposition South Node at 18 Degrees Scorpio, Square Saturn at 22 Degrees Aquarius. WOW! Mars conjunct Uranus is the classic aspect of “shaking things up.” Mars is a hot, fiery energy and Uranus rules sudden events. Saturn can bring temperature extremes. Together they can trigger all kinds of sudden (Uranus) events of nature – earthquakes, hurricanes, high winds, tornados and extreme temperatures. In addition, watch for major upsets and jaw-dropping revelations in the mundane sphere. That is, political, economic and financial matters. Stay calm, Mars moves quickly so the craziness will gradually ease as the month progresses.
August 2: Mercury Quincunx Pluto at 25 Degrees Leo/Pisces. Mercury Quincunx Pluto is one of those “rubber-hits-the-road” aspects where you are nudged to face previously hidden truths about your situation. Pluto compels you to dig deep, while Mercury inspires thought. The quincunx aspect requires adjustment. Though doing so can be unpleasant, it will help you make an important decision(s).
August 2: Venus Sextile Mars and Uranus at 18-19 Degrees Cancer/Taurus. What is your passion? The floodgates of creativity are opened under Venus sextile Uranus. The energy and daring to pursue your heart’s desire are unleased under Venus sextile Mars. An exciting person or project could materialize under this stimulating, energetic and creative aspect.
August 4: Mercury Enters Virgo. Mercury in Virgo is a superb time to organize your office, home or priorities. On August 5, Venus Quincunx Saturn at 22 Degrees Cancer/Aquarius helps you reassess your relationships and loyalties. Mercury sesiquiquadrate Chiron stimulates your memories and dreams. Use Chiron’s healing energy to forgive and forget past slights or upsets.
August 7: Mars Square Saturn at 22 Degrees Taurus/Aquarius and Venus Trine Neptune at 25 Degrees Cancer/Pisces. Mars square Saturn will sorely test your patience. This aspect is like stepping on the gas (Mars) while keeping your foot on the brake (Saturn). Accomplish what you can and let the rest go. Venus trine Neptune is a classic escape aspect. A brief escape to leisurely take a walk by water (Neptune) is the preferred medicine to ease the testy Mars square Saturn aspect.
August 8: Sun Trine Chiron at 16 Degrees Leo/Aries. Review and renew your sense of purpose and spiritual path under the Sun trine Chiron aspect in the fire signs of Leo/Aries. Fire signs give “oomph” to your decisions.
August 9: Venus Opposition Pluto at 26 Degrees Cancer/Capricorn and Mercury Quincunx Jupiter at 8 Degrees Virgo/Aries. Be careful under Venus opposition Pluto, especially in your interactions with others. Express yourself truthfully, but don’t aggressively push. Doing so will only create stand-offs and control issues. Mercury quincunx Jupiter calls for adjustment in your communication style. Are you being too wordy when trying to get your point across?
August 11: Full Moon at 19 Degrees Aquarius/Leo Conjunct Saturn and Sun Square Uranus at 18 Degrees Leo/Taurus. This Aquarius Full Moon conjunct Saturn with the Sun square Uranus is an erratic and unpredictable Moon that helps you break free. Aquarius wants us to move forward into the unknown and to break the chains restricting us. Saturn is those chains. Saturn wants us to cling to the past and to move slowly. The Moon is our emotions and what we need to make us happy. Use this time of brilliant flashes of insight (Uranus and Aquarius) to ascertain what you really want (Moon) and to carefully plan (Saturn) how to manifest your best, most authentic self (Leo).
Venus Enters Leo bringing a sense of fun and creativity. Enjoy your relationships and give yourself an “atta boy, atta girl” pat on the back for what you have accomplished.
August 14: Sun Opposition Saturn at 22 Degrees Leo/Aquarius; and Mars Trine Pluto at 26 Degrees Taurus/Capricorn. Mars trine Pluto gives you a burst of energy and a desire to push forward aggressively. However, the tortoise wins the race when the Sun is opposition Saturn. For the best results, patiently tackle any obstacles in a steady, focused way (Saturn).
August 16: Mercury Trine Uranus at 18 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Mercury trine Uranus can bring out radical and unusual viewpoints. Instead, use this time to tune into brilliant flashes of insight and inspiration. Venus trine Jupiter at 8 degrees Leo/Aries on the 17th helps you discover your heart’s desire. Altogether, these are wonderful aspects if used correctly.
August 20: Mars Enters Gemini. The emphasis is on communication of all kinds when Mars is in Gemini.
August 21: Mercury Opposition Neptune at 25 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. For the best results, turn on your right-brain, intuitive thinking, but be careful of confusion and misperception.
August 22: Sun Enters Virgo. When the Sun is in Virgo until September 23, tackle any tasks that require logic, organization and analytical abilities.
August 25: Mercury Enters Libra. Mercury in Libra is a social time when artistic pursuits and partnership activities are favored. This is a good time to write that note or letter to smooth any lingering relationship issues.
August 27: New Moon at 4 Degrees Virgo and Sun and Moon Square Mars at 4 Degrees Virgo/Gemini. Venus Square Uranus at 19 Degrees Leo/Taurus. The New Moon in Virgo wants safety, order and clarity. However, Mars square Uranus brings a chaotic, disorganized, disruptive element into the picture. This is one of those times when its best to “let go and let God” and to go with the flow. The Virgo New Moon is about learning to trust and to be okay with the perfect imperfections of life. And, for all of my Virgo readers – you do not need to be perfect to be special and important and wonderful.
August 28-31. Venus Opposition Saturn at 20 Degrees Leo/Aquarius. Venus Quincunx Neptune at 24 Degrees Leo/Pisces. Use the clear and focused lens of Venus opposition Saturn to reassess your relationships and friendships. However, avoid life changing decisions now. Venus quincunx Neptune can fog your thinking processes and you may be extra impressionable.
