The Sun moved into Leo on July 22nd and was conjunct Mercury in Leo from July 31 through August 2. Our attention is directed towards unleashing our capacity for joy, wonder, creativity and play. As Mercury moves into Virgo on August 11 and joins Mars and Venus in that sign, the emphasis begins to shift. Finally, on August 23 the Sun moves into Virgo. The month of August 2021 is superb for unleashing your creativity (Leo) and bringing it down to earth in a helpful way (Virgo). Enjoy!
August 1-7: Sun Conjunct Mercury in Opposition to Saturn from 9-11 Degrees Leo/Aquarius and Square Uranus from 13-15 Degrees Leo/Taurus. This is a rather testy time. With the Sun conjunct Mercury and Sun opposing Saturn, our will and our need to speak out seems to be squelched. Add to that, the square to the planet of freedom (Uranus) and the stage is set for a rebellious break out. Watch the news to see how this volatile energy will play out on the world stage.
August 8: New Moon at 16 Degrees Leo. Bring out your paintbrush, guitar, and dancing shoes to celebrate the New Moon in Leo. Unleash your ability to express pure joy and exuberance under this Leo New Moon. New Moons are always about new beginnings and new intentions. Set your intention to have more fun and joy despite what is going on around you.
August 9-10: Venus Opposition Neptune at 22-23 Degrees Virgo/Pisces. Venus opposing Neptune combines the energies of the two planetary muses, but because it is an opposition, neither seems to be able to produce results. Use the inspiration they bring, but don’t expect concrete results. Instead, enjoy listening to music, watching a dreamy movie or playing in the water.
August 11: Mercury Enters Virgo. After the animated exuberance of Mercury in Leo, Mercury in Virgo calms things down and your thoughts turn to organization and planning. If you have children, begin to get everything together for the unknowns of the upcoming school year while Mercury is in Virgo.
August 12: Venus Trine Pluto at 24-25 Degrees Virgo/Capricorn. You may wish to have that deep, soul-baring conversation with your loved one(s) under this intense, yet loving energy. Be careful though, power issues and in play.
August 13-14: Mars Inconjunct Saturn at 9 Virgo/Aquarius. Frustration abounds under Mars inconjunct Saturn. Mars wants action and Saturn says “not so fast.” Adjustments need to be made under an inconjunct aspect.
August 15-17: Sun Inconjunct Neptune and Pluto at 23-24 Degrees Leo/Pisces/Capricorn in a Yod Aspect. As stated above, the inconjunct aspect is an uncomfortable connection that requires an adjustment. The signs of Leo, Pisces and Capricorn do not naturally understand each other. Therefore, if you have planets near 23-24 degrees of any of these signs, you may feel out of sorts or confused about your life direction and connection to others under this aspect.
August 16: Venus enters Libra. Venus loves being in its own sign of Libra where it will reside until September 10. Use Venus in Libra to strengthen relationships, revise or sign contracts and to beautify your wardrobe and surroundings.
August 19-20: Mercury Conjunct Mars Trine Uranus at 12-14 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Sun Opposition Jupiter at 27-28 Degrees Leo/Aquarius. Your mind will be brimming with new and unusual ideas under Mercury trine Uranus. Use this helpful energy to find an innovative solutions to vexing problems. A bonus of this connection in the down-to-earth signs of Virgo and Taurus is that the insights you gain will be practical and useful. The Sun opposing Jupiter is prone to over optimism and even exaggeration, so keep your ideas grounded and practical.
August 20: Uranus turns Retrograde at 14 Degrees Taurus. Uranus retrograde lasts until January 18, 2022, when it will station direct at 10 degrees Taurus. Uranus is a slow mover that stays in each sign for seven years, so we won’t feel its retrograde motion on a daily basis. However, Uranus retrograde in Taurus is an excellent time to make beneficial changes to enhance your financial worth. it can also help you break out of limiting beliefs about your self worth so you can reveal your true self.
August 21: Mars Trine Uranus at 14 Degrees Virgo/Taurus. Use this easy energy between Mars and Uranus to explore new horizons and to break free from limiting beliefs.
August 22: Full Moon at 29 Degrees 37 Minutes Aquarius. Twenty-nine degrees of any planet in astrology has a certain magical, fated quality to it. The second Full Moon in a row to fall in Aquarius is at that special 29-degree point. Under this Aquarius Full Moon, focus on where you want more freedom, or more connection with a close friend or group. It may bring a turning point in your life around those matters. When the Sun enters Virgo later on the 22nd at 5:34 pm (EDT), let the Virgo energy clarify and organize your intentions. What a winning combination!!
August 30: Mercury enters Libra. Plan social events and work out thorny social conundrums when Mercury is in Libra. When the planet of communication is in the sign of diplomacy, your chances of a win-win outcome is highly enhanced. Continue to pursue your artistic pursuits, as you will have an enhanced sense of color, form and balance under the transit of Mercury in Libra.
